The ROG Phone 8 series is the latest in the brand’s flagship gaming smartphones. As usual, there will be two models: the ROG Phone 8 and the ROG Phone 8 Pro. Both come with comparatively same specifications, but the Pro will have bigger RAM and storage.
The ROG Phone 8 series ups the ante with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform with up to 24GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Its cooling system uses a Rapid-Cooling Conductor design to cool down its chip. When paired with the new AeroActive Cooler X, the smartphone’s temperature drops by up to 26°C.
You can view your games on its 6.78-inch 2400 x 1080 Samsung Flexible AMOLED display that can max its refresh rate up to 165Hz. ASUS says that its brightness can reach up to 2,500nits to ensure clarity even against sunlight.
Its rear now has a more minimalist design that strays away from the garish designs of previous gaming smartphones. ASUS, however, has still managed to fit a bit of flair with the new Aura RGB lighting on the ROG Phone 8 and the Anime Vision Mini-LED display on the Pro model.
