Samsung finally unveils the Galaxy Note8, comes with dual 12MP rear cameras and Exynos 8895

After tons of leaks before its release, Samsung’s Galaxy Note8 is already upon us. As a follow up to last year’s Note7, which had been pulled of the market due to its battery problems and has been re-released onto the market, the Note8 comes with the newest tech from the Korean giant.

The most significant upgrade of the Note8 compared to other Galaxy smartphones is its dual 12MP rear cameras. The primary sensor comes packed with an aperture of f/1.7 while the secondary camera is 2x optical zoom lens with an aperture of f/2.4. This means that its dual camera setup is more akin to the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom than the Huawei P10 Plus. Both cameras also come with OIS and PDAF for that extra oomph.

The Korean company has also enhanced the capabilities of the S Pen with the Note 8. The new S Pen comes with a finer tip and improved pressure sensitivity for a wider gamut of possibilities.

For us here in Asia, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 will be coming with Samsung’s Exynos 8895 SoC while other countries will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 version. Both chipsets are complemented by 6GB of RAM. The Note8, however, will still come with a bog standard 64GB of internal memory with an option to further expand the storage via a microSD slot.

The Note8’s 6.3-inch 1440p screen retains the Galaxy S8 and S8+’s tall 18.5:9 aspect ratio. This means that users will have more screen real estate despite the smartphone feeling a bit thinner on the hands despite its 6.3-inch screen.  Here are the full specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note8:
