After much teasing and leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note 10+ has been officially launched. As expected it comes with a more powerful chipset as well as improved functionality and design.
Larger and better displays
The Samsung Galaxy Note10+ comes with the largest display yet in the Note series. The smartphones comes with a 6.8-inch 3040 x 1440 Cinematic Infinity Display while the Galaxy Note10 has a relatively smaller 6.3-inch 2280 x 1080 screen.
Both displays on the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ has an edge-to-edge Cinematic Infinity Display design. The displays are almost bezelless, however, both smartphones retains the punch hole design found on the Samsung Galaxy S10+ for the front-facing camera.
As expected, the displays on these smartphones are Dynamic AMOLED panels. Samsung boasts HDR10+ certification and Dynamic Tone Mapping that reproduces photos and videos brighter than previous entries in the Samsung Galaxy Note lineup.
The AMOLED displays on the two Galaxy Note10 smartphones also has 98% color and brightness uniformity. In addition, Eye Comfort reduces blue light without significantly affecting color quality.
Maximized productivity alongside the S Pen
Of course, Samsung will be carrying over the S Pen as with the case in previous Note smartphones. The S Pen on the Note10 series adds to the formula Air Actions. Air Actions allows the user to control aspects of the device while using only gestures from the S Pen.
It seems that Samsung will be giving developers access to the Air Actions SDK to allow for customized controls in games or in applications.
The Galaxy Note10 series will be compatible with the Samsung DeX. This will allow users to drag and drop files between devices, and use the smartphone with a mouse and keyboard.
Both the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ is now integrated Link to Windows directly into the Quick Panel. With a few easy steps, the smartphones can now connect to a Windows 10 PC. This will allow users to see notifications, send and receive messages, as well as review recent photos all within the PC.
The Samsung Galaxy Note10+ gets four cameras
The punch hole found on the Samsung Galaxy Note10 series houses a 10MP 2PD AF f/2.2 front-facing camera. Both the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ comes with a 16MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, a 12MP 2PD AF f/1.5 – f/2.4 main camera, and a 12MP f/2.1 telephoto lens. The Note10+, however, comes with an extra 3D Depth Sensing camera.
Aside from the expected camera upgrade, the Samsung Galaxy Note10 series got a few upgrades in the camera software department. Video mode now comes with Live Focus video, which adds depth of field adjustments.
A Zoom-in Mic has been added to video that allows the smartphone to amplify audio in frame and push out background noises. Samsung has also thrown in Super Steady to Hyperlapse mode for a more stable time-lapse videos.
A new, more powerful chipset
Depending on the region, both the Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ can have an Exynos 9825 chip based on a 7nm EUV manufacturing process. The smaller lithography will allow the smartphone to perform faster while being more power efficient compared to last year’s Exynos 9820 chipset.
The Galaxy Note10 will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note10+ will come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Samsung, however, will be offering a 512GB variant for the Note10+ for those who will pre-order.
Other improvements under the hood
The Galaxy Note10 series sport 4×4 MIMO 802.11ax Dual-Band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. The Note10 will have a 3,500mAh battery while the Note10+ gets its juice from a 4,300mAh battery module.
Batteries are charged via a USB Type-C connection that supports 45W Super Fast Charging. Both smartphones are also PowerShare compatible that allows them to wireless charge themselves or any other Qi-enable devices like the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds.
Both smartphones run on Android 9.0 Pie and has Hybrid Dual-SIM capabilities. Sacrificing the Hybrid SIM slot can expand the smartphones’ storage by up to 1TB.

No word yet as to when the Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ will arrive in the Philippines or their local pricing. With Samsung’s release schedule, however, we expect to receive more news in the coming weeks.
