On paper, the Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+ are already impressive smartphones in their own right. Samsung, however, is upping the ante when it comes to smartphone photography with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with its 108MP main camera and the capability to reach 100x zoom levels.
As you would have probably guessed, the largest difference between the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and its peers is the camera setup. Instead of a comparatively measly 12MP f/1.8 main, the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with a 108MP f/1.8 Main backed by a 48MP f/3.5 Telephoto, a 12MP f/2.2 Ultrawide shooter, and a ToF sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra also comes with a larger sensor compared to the S10 and Note10 series. Samsung says that they have increased the sensor size by 2.9 times that allows better photos in low light conditions.
These improvements in megapixel count and sensor size bolstered by AI power and image multi-processing allows the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra to have a Super Resolution Zoom of up to 100x zoom.
Like the Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra can capture 8K videos at 30fps. If you want a smoother video experience, the device also supports 4K capture at 60fps.
The device comes with a nice 6.9-inch 20:0 Dynamic AMOLED 2.0 display with a 3440 x 1440 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It still comes with a punch-hole notch that houses its 40MP f/2.2 front-facing camera.
Like its brethren, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is equipped with an Exynos 990 chip inside with 5G capabilities. RAM size, however, has been increased to 12GB for added multi-tasking and overall performance. Files are stored in its 128GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 1TB via its hybrid SIM slot.
The device come with more quality of life improvements such as Live Focus Video, Wireless PowerShare, Samsung DeX Support, Dolby Atmos, Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner, and IP68 Water and Dust Resistance rating.
The smartphone gets its juice from a 5,000mAh battery inside its rather glossy shell. Though the battery might sound like it needs a bit of time to charge, the device comes with a 45W Super Fast Charging to decrease the wait.
