Samsung Galaxy smartphones soon to run full-fledged Linux distros via DeX

-

It seems that Samsung aims to be an all-in-one solution for both mobile and desktop use. The Korean giant released a concept video that details a Galaxy smartphone booting a fully functioning Ubuntu 16.04 LTS environment with the help of DeX.

Before this concept was shown, the Samsung DeX was capable of turning your Samsung Galaxy S8 to a desktop device. The caveat being that it would still be an Android-based desktop experience. With this concept video, however, Samsung would be one step closer to being an all-in-one solution for everyone.

We hope that we’re given a choice of installing whatever distribution we prefer once this feature is available for use.
