The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 has officially made its debut along with the new Galaxy Z Flip7 series. This flagship foldable will come with several upgrades from the last generation and even have some advantages over the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 will now come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Its main display is slightly larger than before as it now comes with an 8.0-inch 2184 x 1968 Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen running at 120Hz with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
Its cover display is a smidge larger as well with a 6.5-inch 2520 x 1080 Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with Glass Ceramic 2 protection. Inside the chassis is a 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W Fast Charging, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless Power Share.
Samsung is importing the 200MP f/1.7 main camera of the S25 Ultra to the Fold7. It is backed by a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide and a 10MP f/2.4 telephoto. On the other hand, both the main and cover display will come with a 10MP f/2.2 selfie shooter.
The cameras are complemented by software improvements such as ProVisual Engine that allows for faster image processing and more detailed and vibrant photos. Night Video separates moving objects from still backgrounds to reduce noise while Audio Eraser removes unwanted background noise from videos. Its AI Photo Suite has been condensed into Photo Assist that lets you fill backgrounds or erase objects with generative AI.
The Galaxy Fold7 is thinner than before at 4.2mm when unfolded and is lighter weighing in at 215g. Even though it had a reduction in weight and thickness, they are still using the same 4,400mAh battery capacity than before with support for 25W Fast Charging, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless PowerShare.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold7 runs on One UI 8, and will come with plenty of AI integration. Gemini Live is enhanced with multimodal AI to better understand what you are doing and reply with contextual answers without having to toggle to and from apps. Its large display takes advantage of AI Results View be it in a separate Split or Floating View and you can now Drag and Drop AI-generated content from Multi-Window.
