Samsung remains the global leader in smartphones with its 18% market share in Q2 2024 according to Canalys’ latest research.
Based on their analysis, the primary driver of Samsung might be the S24. They shared last quarter that the smartphone “…might have the potential to reshape the industry,” and that may potentially be true. Their market share, however, is down to just 18% compared to the 20% share they had back in Q1 2024. More recently, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 series with AI integration and enhanced experience for foldables.
Just below the South Korean giant is Apple with 16% of market share in global smartphones. While they are positioned at a respectable 2nd place, they have generated excitement at WWDC and their device refreshes will be announced soon.
Rounding up the podium is Xiaomi at 15% market share, but their growth boosted the most with 27% annual growth. vivo and TRANSSION share the 9% market share to finish up the top 5 spots smartphone brand market share in the globe.
