Samsung is stepping up their gaming monitor lineup this year starting with the Samsung CRG9. With a 49-inch VA panel, the Samsung CRG9 comes with a whopping 5120 x 1440 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and AMD FreeSync 2.
Aside from its massive resolution and fast refresh rate, the Samsung CRG9’s panel promises a peak brightness of 1,000nits, HDR10 support, and a 1,800mm curvature. Quantum Dot technology found on their previous monitors like the Samsung CFG70 also makes a comeback on the CRG9 to allow the display to reproduce accurate colors.
Essentially two 27-inch 2560 x 1440 monitors placed side-by-side, the Samsung CRG9’s 32:9 aspect ratio is made even better by having multitasking features such as Picture-by-Picture mode. This allows users to output two sources on the same screen.
For connectivity, monitor comes with a single HDMI port, two DisplayPorts, USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, and a headphone jack.
The Samsung CRG9 will be coming to CES 2019. Price and availability hasn’t been announced yet but we expect the brand’s latest gaming monitor to come sometime this year.
