It’s been 3 years since Samsung has released a flip phone in the form of the Galaxy Folder. The brand is trying once again to revive the flip phones of yore with the Galaxy Folder 2.

Announced last Friday, the Galaxy Folder 2 is equipped with an Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, 3.8-inch display, 1.4GHz quad-core CPU complemented by 2GB of RAM, expandable storage of up to 256GB, and a removable 1,950mAh battery.  For the photo-taking, the Galaxy Folder 2 features an 8MP main shooter and a 5MP front camera.

Aside from the up-to-date specifications of the Galaxy Folder 2, the body remains largely the same compared to the flip phones of days long gone. There are buttons dedicated for contacts, text, and camera, as well as for social media apps.

Starting at KRW 297,000 (USD 260 or PhP 13,000), Samsung is expected to sell the Galaxy Folder 2 with 3G and LTE variants with black and burgundy for color. At this time, it’s still unsure if Samsung will be launching the phone outside South Korea.
