Samsung to start strong this January 2017?

2016 has been a roller coaster ride, Samsung encountered one of the most challenging problems in the smartphone industry while Chinese brands like Huawei, Oppo and Vivo skyrocketed against 2015 year’s glory takers.

Despite their unfortunate turnaround with the Galaxy Note7, Samsung is still one of the top smartphone brands in the world maintaining it’s No.1 Android smartphone position. Samsung Philippines themselves teased the local media of an upcoming flagship phone to kick-off the year.

In the press release of Samsung Philippines, it seems we will expect a smartphone that will be the hybrid of the Galaxy Note7 and Galaxy S7 more or less it will be called the Galaxy S8.

No much was teased but it seems it will be a “Selfie” centric smartphone with a 16MP front facing camera, ultra-fast charging, IP68 water and dust resistant rating, dual-sim with dedicated expandable microSD card tray, USB Type-C and even possibly a dual rear camera setup.

If we were to be asked what we would like to see in the next Galaxy is that it should be more simplistic and less vibrant. The TouchWiz UI is simply too colorful and “neon” like for everyone, Samsung already got the simplicity but it’s time for more personalization.

Regardless of what will be launched soon for Samsung, we look forward to their comeback phone to see if it will re-capture the flagship arena against the iPhone 7, Huawei Mate 9, LG V20 and among others.
