Samsung Philippines has officially entered a partnership with Moonton Games for the MPL Season 9 to strengthen its name in the gaming scene and solidify the role of its Galaxy A series devices as affordable gaming smartphones for all.
As partner, Samsung is taking the lead to expand the local esports scene by sponsoring the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League in the Philippines. The tourney will start in the Philippines on February 18, 2022. The new season is expected to bring more players into the roster including Bren Esports, ECHO, Smart Omega, Nexplay EVOS, TNC Pro, RSG Philippines, ONIC PH, and defending champion Blacklist International.

During the pandemic, mobile gaming apps registered the highest growth usage in the Philippines based on the Global Web Index. 98% of Filipinos aged 16 to 64 own a smartphone and from these are 72% that are into mobile gaming. These gaming apps include Mobile Legends: Bang Bang that took the top spot based on active users.
