In Scorn, players get to encounter a couple of puzzles during Act 1-1 of the game. As the game is pretty vague and obscure about details, players are left in despair to solve these puzzles. But fret not! It’s not over yet. Get to solve the puzzles in Act 1-1 of Scorn using this walkthrough, and also get to know how to clear Act 1 of the game.
Note that the game has multiple paths that lead to the same outcome/result. This guide may only be one of the methods used to achieve the same goal.
Scorn Act 1-1 Walkthrough
- After gaining control of you character, head left and follow the path. Once you reach the mezzanine, turn right and head down.
- Interact with the door.
- After going through the door, approach the device directly in front of you to get the ability to interact with terminals.
- Go to the terminal and unlock the door. Remove the left lock first then activate the gears to open the door. Move fast and go through it.
- Head to the massive door and follow the corridor to the right. Hug the right wall until you reach an elevator.
- Ride the elevator and activate it to go to the upper level.
- Go either left or right and continue until you reach an opening leading to the center.
- There are two terminals here. Activate the right one to start the egg puzzle.
- Move two “eggs” with lights to the upper right-most spot to solve the puzzle.
- Head back to the main chamber and look for the crane-looking contraption. You’ll hear squelching sounds if you’re at the right spot. Activate the terminal to lower the “egg”.
- Use the middle platform to line up the rails and push the “egg” to the next terminal.
- Upon reaching the next station, use the terminal to attach a metal plate to the top of the “egg”.
- Move forward with the “egg” and use the rails to enter the room to the right of the main-door.
- Use the devices to pulverize the “egg”. Approach the chair and take the arm.
- Head towards the room to the left of the main door.
- Interact with the terminal mounted on the wall using the arm.
- Use the arm on the main door’s left terminal and then interact with the right terminal.
- Go through the door and access the elevator to proceed to Act 1-2.
Scorn Act 1-1 Puzzle
Main Chamber Puzzle
Likely the biggest puzzle during the early stages of the game is the main chamber. Without any hints or tips, the player is left on their own here. Exploring and figuring things out can take a good chunk of your time so best get to the first part of the puzzle – the egg wall.
Scorn Egg Wall Puzzle
The egg wall puzzle is the first of many in Act 1-1. To get here, from the large main doors, head towards the right room and hug the right wall. Once you enter a large room with a seat in the middle, look towards your right and there you’ll find an elevator that leads to the upper level. Ride the elevator and go either left or right until you reach an opening to the center.

Use The Right Terminal
Reaching the opening, you’ll notice a terminal standing at the middle. You won’t be using this until later. Just to its right is another terminal. Use this to initiate the Egg Wall puzzle.
Place The Lighted Eggs To The Upper Right Spot
To clear the Scorn Egg Wall puzzle, you must place two lighted “eggs” on the upper right spot. After placing the first, activate the other terminal to place it on the conveyor belt. Now comes the hard part. You must rearrange the remaining “eggs” so that the lighted one reaches the pick up spot. Try to shuffle the eggs around and have everything moved to the right side while moving the lighted egg. It may be troublesome but be patient and don’t be afraid to experiment. You can solve this! After successfully moving the egg, use the main terminal again to place it on the conveyor belt.
Back To The Main Chamber
Bring Down The Egg
After moving down the egg, head back to the main chamber and look for a crane. You’ll hear a squelching/gurgling sound if you’re near the egg. Use the terminal to place the egg onto the cradle.
Use The Center Terminal To Arrange The Tracks
The tracks are all controlled by the terminal located on the elevated middle platform. Use it as you proceed further down the tracks.
Stamp The Egg
After getting the egg, proceed towards the left of the tracks until you reach another terminal. Position the egg underneath the contraption and then interact with the terminal. Witness as the egg gets the “seal of approval”.
Push Towards The Right Room
After getting stamped, you can push the egg towards the right room to “process” it. Use the track controls to drive the cradle to the room to the right of the main doors.
Crack The Egg
After reaching the end-point, use the crane to place the egg on the chair in the middle of the room. Afterwards, head towards the inner terminal to “crack” it open. Get the arm as this is the key to the main door.
Can You Save The Egg Man?
Yes you can. Instead of going to the room to the right, you can instead go to the room left of the main door. Use the rail controls to align the railroad tracks so that it leads to the farthest room. Use the machine as you would with the above method. Instead of killing the egg, the guy comes out with all limbs. After getting up, egg guy then follows you. Do the steps below to continue.
Note that this also unlocks an achievement and may require a replay of this act to achieve.
Scorn How To Open The Main Door In Act 1-1
Get The Arm Branded
To finally get out of the main chamber, you must head to the room to the left of the main doors. There are two corridors here and the one that you need to go to is in the left one. Use the terminal to attach a device similar to yours to the arm.
Interact With The Big Doors
After getting the key for the arm, use the arm on the left terminal. After cracking the doors open a bit, move to the right terminal to finally open it.
Use The Elevator To Proceed
Upon opening the doors, push forward and interact with the lone terminal in the middle to activate the elevator. Congratulations! You’ve finally reached Act 1-2 of Scorn!
