In Scorn, players get to encounter a couple of puzzles during Act 5 of the game. As the game is pretty vague and obscure about details, players are left in despair to solve these puzzles. But fret not! It’s not over yet. Get to solve the puzzles in Act 5 of Scorn using this walkthrough, and also get to know how to clear Act 5 of the game.
Note that the game has multiple paths that lead to the same outcome/result. This guide may only be one of the methods used to achieve the same goal.
Scorn Act 5 Walkthrough
No Enemies In Act 5
Unlike the previous two acts, Act 5 has no enemies present in it. It’s similar to the first Act and relies on visual storytelling rather than unnerving you with annoying foes. On the other hand…
Prepare For A Boss Fight
Act 5 is home to the only boss fight in the game. While you do get some ammo before the fight, it’s not enough to get a full magazine. Hopefully, you’ve saved some of your ammo while fighting your way through Act 4. You’ll need it.

Act 5 Walkthrough
Getting The Blood Canisters
- Head into the building using either the right or left staircase. Take in the intricate art as you find yourself inside.
- Use the doorway to the left and descend. The stairs lead to a room with a raised platform in the middle. Interact with the controls near the left body to get a half-filled canister.
- From the platform, take the central pathway. After exiting the corridor, you’ll notice a terminal to your right. Use it and leave the canister to open the path forward.
- The path then leads to a large room. To your right are two embryos together with an ammo and health refills. Take an embryo after you finish taking supplies.
- With the red egg or embryo, head to the opposite side of the room and plug it into the abdomen of the seated humanoid. Shoot the embryo to get the baby (I don’t know why they have to do this instead of just shooting the thing from the start).
- With glee, carry the corpse to the station where you left the half-filled blood canister. Interact with the terminal to see a face-to-face presentation of this world’s juicero. With a filled canister, head back to the raised platform and place it back from where you got it.
- Interact with the other body’s terminal to get another canister. This time, it’s fully empty. Repeat the process and use the canister to open the path back to the room.
- Carry the remaining embryo and use it to activate the humanoid. This time, it won’t go down easily. Battle the boss during its two phases (boss guide) to finally get the corpse and the grenade launcher. Juice the corpse to fill the canister by half.
- Return to the room and look right. Stand in front of the light beside the caged space to open a vent. Shoot a grenade into the vent to open the cage and get access to the remaining embryo.
- Repeat the process again and insert the embryo into the humanoid. Unlike the first fight, this one’s a bit easy and requires only patience to beat. Use the grenade launcher when the boss reloads and launch it into its backpack to defeat it.
- Get the corpse and use the juicero to get its juices. But…
Getting Your Hands Back
- With your hands being unavailable to use, you cannot interact with the controls to insert the blood canister. With that realization, from the body platform, head left and back to the staircase and use it to go down.
- Use the machine to your left to temporary regain control of your hand. Then, similar to what you did in the boss room, stand on the inclined platform to the right of the room to open a vent. Launch a grenade to unlock the door. If you need to reload, use the machine to the left to temporarily use your hand and use it on the boss corpse to the left for more grenades.
Warning: Using the machine to regain control of your hand deals damage over time. You can die from this so make sure you have enough health to tank the damage.
- With the path open, head right. Use the machine to your left to get your hand back and interact with the door switch. You can also regenerate health here using the nearby health dispenser.
- After going through the door, stand on the sloping platform. Wait for an opportunity to shoot through the two conveyor belts and land a grenade into the vent. This opens a path to a key card upgrade terminal. Use it and upgrade your card. You need to have your left hand free for this so you might have to go back to the piercing machine if enough time has passed.
- Head back to the circular chamber and use your newly minted key card to open the locked door. After opening, head back to the piercing machine to open your left hand, then head into the room and interact with the operating table.
- Target the head of the parasite to remove it from your body. After that messy affair, leave the room and to the remaining pathway, the one with a caged door.
- While still groggy from your forced separation, return to the main area and climb to the main hall of the building. Use the right staircase to reunite with the two bodies. Insert the blood canister near the head of the remaining body advance.
- After getting to the upper level, turn around and connect into this world’s version of the internet.
Controlling Two Bodies
- After the brief “you’re finally awake” moment. Interact with the humanoid operating on your previous body.
- Switch to the other body, the one with free hands, and head towards the center. To your left is a machine that gives you the device necessary to interact with terminals. Use it and then head towards the terminal facing the door. Use the door terminal and then switch back to your other body.
- With your unnerving previous body in hand, stand directly in front of the door. You’ll find a sloping floorboard here similar to what you encountered in the past few minutes. Stand on it to fully open the pathway forward.
- Using the same body. Continue moving forward. Congratulations! You’ve finally beaten Scorn!
Scorn Act 5 Puzzle
Baby Puzzle
The baby puzzle is probably the only thing puzzle-like thing in this act. While not a full-fledged puzzle per se, it requires a sequence of actions to advance the game.
To get the body needed to fill the empty canister, you must first plug in the embryo into the humanoid. To get its corpse, you need to defeat the humanoid by hitting its weak points. More details about this in the boss fight guide.
