Despite gaming a lot and spending most of my living time in front of a computer, I’ve not been very particular with chairs. They’re mostly an afterthought, something you’d consider if you don’t need anything else. Boy, was I wrong. One thing that convinced me about its necessity is the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022. From before, any chair would do but now, it certainly won’t. Why so? Is the TITAN Evo 2022 actually a good chair? Is it actually worth it? Read this Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 review to know more.
Note that I come from a perspective of a person having a first-time experience with both the product and the brand. I cannot give any comparison as to how it fares compared to the previous iterations.

I unboxed the whole thing before and have documented the assembly from the box down to propping up the chair itself. You can see the whole process here.
As I usually paint miniatures beside by PC, I also used the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 to help me in my painting endeavors. One thing very noticeable and I guess the best point for me is that it has stable armrests. I can use these armrests to brace myself and paint minuscule details while having the model itself in front of me. It sounds nothing that would be a requirement for gaming but for me, it’s a huge deal.
Another thing worth noting about the armrests is the amount of customization you can do with it. You can change the cushion if you want to as the cushions are magnetized and you can simply pop it up if you want to change it. Another is that you can adjust its height, pretty standard, but also adjust its distance from your body. You can even tweak the angle of the armrests to point away from you or to you. Should you find yourself wanting to replace the armrests, you can order alternative cushions on Secretlab’s store page. Now that’s impressive.
Having had a bad experience with faux leather from a different chair, I decided to go with a safer choice and go with the “Secretlab Softweave Plus Material”. It may sound to complex but the fabric is breathable and is said to be inspired by performance footwear. Sounds weird to have it on a chair, right? But it actually works. The chair’s not that hot and sitting on it with direct contact to your bare skin isn’t irritating. It feels soft and smooth and not rough as with most gaming chairs.
Probably one of the most finicky features of the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 is the Lumbar Support. See, you have two knobs located on each side of the chair. These are adjustments to the chair’s underlying support located within it. Left knob is for the support’s height and the right knob is for the depth. You won’t notice it too much if you look at it from the outside but adjusting the knobs while seating makes it pretty apparent. Adjusting the right knob curves a part of the chair, allowing it to follow the natural curves of your back so that you can sit snugly and with proper posture. I like this feature. Having a bad back limits me from staying longer and this is the first time I’ve had a good gaming chair that completely negates the pain when sitting for extended periods of time.
I just wish they could’ve explained the adjustment knobs more carefully in the instructions. It’s apparent in the most viewed part of their official instruction video that it’s not only me that’s wondering about how the lumbar support works.
Aside from the stable armrest, the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 is a very stable chair. It’s not one of those that rocks whenever you move or shift your weight. It’s pretty firm and when you try wiggling yourself, the chair simply moves to that direction with its wheels instead of the upper body. Is it a good sign? Absolutely.
If you find yourself tired after gaming a lot, there’s no need to go back to your bed. The Secretlab TITAN EVO 2022 can be adjusted to do a 165-degree recline, making it easier to relax and dream about the failed clash that you did a while back. Anyhow, this kind of feature is usually absent in most gaming chairs and I do love it that the TITAN EVO has something like this. I do hope they add a footrest next time to make the relaxation complete.
This is definitely a game changer. Included in the whole package is a Magnetic Memory Foam Head Pillow that can magnetically attach itself to the chair’s head part. It’s optional so you can make do without it. In my case, it helps in keeping a good posture while gaming. It’s neither too hard nor too soft and has a cooling gel inside it to help you during those heated moments.
To check if your Secretlab TITAN EVO 2022 is genuine, you can use an NFC-compatible phone to check the tag located behind the chair. Here in the Philippines, you may be prompted to visit the SG page to view the authenticity of the chair. Just waive the invite to go to either Shopee or Lazada to see the certification. I think it’s great that they have something like this to check counterfeit goods and also to verify your purchase. Given the price of these things, it’s undoubtedly a must.
It’s pretty apparent that the whole thing is heavy once you start assembling it. While it can be tedious to put the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 together, it does show you alot about the chair’s quality. Everything’s solid steel and the wheelbase is made of aluminum. There are no cut corners here and it shows as you assemble it from the base to the cushions.
After sitting on a lot of gaming chairs, both ones that I own and ones that I tried, a good number of them wobble a lot. Simply shifting to a side shifts the whole thing and I found it pretty jarring as one wrong move may start the collapse of the whole thing. Such is not a thing here with the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022. It’s stable and I used it a lot when hobbying and painting.
See, when painting miniatures, you have to have a stable platform to brace or rest your elbows. The armrests on the TITAN Evo 2022 is so stable that it can replace a table. It’s that good. The whole chair also doesn’t wobble that much and it doesn’t rock back and forth even if you try. Good quality here, people.
I am incredibly satisfied with my experience with the Secretlab SoftWeave Plus Fabric material that the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 comes with. As mentioned above, having had bad experience with faux leather compelled me to get this one and looking back it’s a good choice. It doesn’t flake and is cool to the touch. It remains cool even in the hot tropical weather here in the Philippines and it does not get too warm even with direct contact to the skin.
Another feature worth pointing out is the Lumbar Support. It allowed me to stay seated longer without compromising my posture. Back pains that I previously experienced with crappy chairs are now non-existent. It’s not a miracle chair but it has certainly made the experience of seating longer now possible and unnoticeable. Highly recommended for those having troubles with their backs.
Probably the horror story of it all is the price tag of the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022. The price is more than the usual monthly income here in the Philippines. With that said, a lot may be hard-pressed to even consider buying this thing. If it’s too much of a chore to shell out that much money in one go, Secretlab is thankfully offering installment plans for their chairs here in the Philippines. For other countries, installment plans are still available but differ per region. Be sure to check out your local Secretlab landing page to know more.
With all things considered, I’m genuinely very happy with the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022. I physically have a problem with my back so having a chair that can finally ease the pain definitely helps a lot while gaming for longer periods of time. It’s a real game changer for me. Aside from the therapeutic gains, I also like that it’s stable, making it a good throne when doing my hobbies such as painting miniatures. All in all, a very splendid product that has a great deal of features that are made to last. Hopefully.
About the built to last part, I want to see if the whole thing really holds up so stand by for our re-review of the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 after five more months.
As always, price is relative and what is great for you might not be great for others. Having experienced the cushions, the build, and the amount of features that the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 has, I can definitely say it’s one of those things that are worth it. Is it a luxury? Yes, it’s a premium product but you do get what you pay for here. I also maximized my use of it since I work in front of a computer, game on a computer, and paint miniatures a lot. Considering that it has a five year warranty to boot, yeah, it is worth it for me.
