SKY Cable Corporation has officially entered a partnership with Converge ICT to deliver better Internet services to its customers. With this partnership, SKY will be able to upgrade its network and improve services.
Its commercial arrangement will allow them to use Converge ICT’s fiber-to-the-home network of Converge, which allows its customers to experience faster and more reliable fiber services. Perks may include higher speed plans, symmetrical download and upload speeds, and value-added services.
As of this time, customers will be able to enjoy their services at the same monthly fees. They have, however, expressed that they might be offering new options in the coming weeks. Those who may be able to upgrade will be contacted via email or letter letting them know about the network upgrade in the area.
Currently, Converge has a fiber footprint of over 700,000 kilometers allowing them to reach 16 million Filipino homes nationwide. They are serving 2.3 million residential subscribers across the country as of the end of March 2024.
This isn’t the first time Converge has signed an asset-sharing partnership with another telco. Early this year, they have also partnered with DITO for a facilities-sharing agreement that lets them take advantage of their fiber network.
Ookla have hailed Converge to be the fastest Internet provider in the Philippines for Q3 – Q4 2024 averaging speeds of up 459.56Mbps compared to its competitor of 365.19Mbps.
