Smart 5G has been pegged as the “Most Reliable 5G Mobile Operator” award in the latest report by Ookla. It obtained the highest score in 5G consistency and 5G availability on Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence data in Q2 2021.
According to Ookla’s data, Smart topped 5G Consistency with a score of 89.78% and 14.67% 5G availability compared to Globe’s score of 78.15% and 11.86% in the same areas, respectively.
“This claim recognizes Smart commitment to delivering best reliability to their customers across the Philippines,” said Ookla CEO Doug Suttles in a statement.

Prior to this achievement, Ookla has also cited Smart as the Philippines’ fastest 5G mobile network in Q1 – Q2 2021 with a median download and upload speeds at 220.66Mbps and 20.61Mbps compared to Globe’s 103.22Mbps and 8.07Mbps, respectively.
Currently, Smart has more than 4,000 5G sites in more than 3,000 areas across the country. They also have more than 524,000 kilometers of PLDT fiber network as of the end of June 2021.
