Smart Communications is significantly ramping up its 5G rollout to deliver superior connectivity to its subscribers. As part of its broader network strategy, Smart is gradually reallocation resources from its 3G network to enhance 5G capacity where it’s needed.

To ensure more subscribers can fully benefit from its network improvements, Smart and its value brand TNT, is urging customers to upgrade both their devices and SIM cards.

You can check if your SIM is 5G-ready by texting SIMCHECKto 5832 for free. IF you’re using an outdated SIM, you can get a free SIM upgrade by calling the Smart hotline at *888 or by visiting the nearest Smart Store for assistance.

Smart is also making the transition to 5G-capable devices even more accessible. You can take advantage of easy installment options for prepaid or postpaid device bundles, which are available at Smart Stores nationwide or through the Smart Online store.

TNT has rolled out their own 5G smartphone at only PhP 3,990. While not the most powerful smartphone by far, it’s definitely one of the cheapest 5G-capable smartphones in the market currently.

By focusing our efforts on strengthening our 5G footprint, we’re empowering more Filipinos with faster and more reliable mobile connectivity,” said PLDT and Smart Chief Technology Officer Menardo ‘Butch’ G. Jimenez Jr.  “We are committed to creating a world-class digital experience that meets our customers’ demands today and anticipates their needs of tomorrow.”
