Smart awarded as Fastest and Best Mobile Network by Ookla in PH for Q1-Q2 2022

Ookla has awarded Smart as the Fastest and Best Mobile Network in the Philippines for their performance in the 1st half of 2022. Smart is the first and only Philippine mobile operator to get the awad since Speedtest started in 2017. This citation can only be awarded by Ookla by winning the Fastest Mobile Network and Best Mobile Coverage within the same test period.

According to Ookla’s Speedtest Awards from Q1 to Q2 of 2022, Smart emerged as the Fastest Mobile Network in the Philippine with a speed score of 62.22 while its closest competitor posted a score of 32.48.

Smart also scored a median download and upload speeds of 24.26Mbps and 6.59Mbps, respectively. Its closest competitor posted a median download speed of 17.47Mbps and a median upload speed of 6.43Mbps.

Smart also won the Best Mobile Coverage category with a coverage score of 794, over the Coverage Score of 732 of its competitor. Coverage Score considers both the number of locations in which an operator offers its service and quality of service in each location.

As of the end of June 2022, Smart already had around 77,100 total base stations nationwide, including around 7,300 5G base stations.

Non-Smart subscribers who would like to convert to Smart but want to keep their existing number can now do so t hanks to the Mobile Number Portability act. Their services can be booked via the official Smart website or at Smart concept stores nationwide.
