Smart is now allowing new postpaid customers to choose their preferred number when applying for a plan.
This perk is available on all Smart postpaid plans be it SIM-only or device plans and spans from the affordable Signature 599 plan up to the Signature Plan 2499 with unlimited 4G/5G connectivity.
Once you have chosen your preferred postpaid plan, you can either stick with standard numbers with system generated digits. Alternatively, you can use the search bar with numbers that you prefer and head on over to the Special Numbers tab where you can choose from several numbers that contain your favored digits.
Special numbers do have a pretty hefty one-time charge of PhP 15,000 and cannot be changed once chosen. But hey, at least you can now get numbers that contain 9999, 8888, 7777, or 8008 without going to gray markets online.
Thanks to the Mobile Number Portability Act you can use your custom number with whatever telco you prefer once your plan contract is over.
