Sony has released a brand new lens for their full frame cameras: the Sony 13mm f/1.8 GM. As part of the brand’s G Master series, the lens offers high resolution and exquisite bokeh.
Available for E-mount Sony cameras, the Sony 13mm f/1.8 G Master brings the total of native E-mount lenses to 49. The lens comes with a brand new optical design that places extreme aspherical (XA) and Super Extra-low dispersion glass elements in the front group to remove common telephoto lens abberations.
The Super ED element and one ED glass element are positioned to compensate for axial chromatic aberration, and to minimize color fringing while maximizing overall resolution. This leads to outstanding image quality and clarity.
An 11-bladed circular aperture mechanism creates amazing bokeh when the lens is fully open. The lens also features dual-autofocus groups in a floating focus arrangement for better close-up capability. This allows the lens to have a minimum focus distance of 0.7 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.25x.
To keep up with fast moving subjects, the Sony 13mm f/1.8 G Master comes equipped with four of Sony’s proprietary XD motors — two for each group — to achieve rapid and reliable autofocus tracking.
Aside from a brand new lens, Sony is also introducing circular polarizing filters in the Asia Pacific Region:
The Sony 135mm f/1.8 G Master is now available in the market for PhP 106,900.
