Unlocking the Auto Bolt Rifle varies depending on your game mode. In the story campaign, you need to first reach Operation I: Skyfire to equip it. In PvP multiplayer, reaching Veterancy Level 2 of the Tactical class unlocks the Auto Bolt Rifle.
The Auto Bolt Rifle boasts high fire rate, allowing it to mow down waves of enemies in one magazine. Both damage and range, while not on par with the Bolt Rifle, are compensated by its impressive fire rate. Ideally a weapon you should use if you are expected to fight a lot of Termagaunts or Tzangors. However, you should also manage your ammo as this weapon burns through magazines easily.
In co-op, you can upgrade the Auto Bolt Rifle to improve its stats. Take note that upgrading weapons require you to spend Mastery Points and unlock tiers via Armoury Data.
