The Multi-Melta is the default primary weapon of the Heavy class. In the campaign, you can find it in the third mission, Operation III: Machinus Divinitus. In Operations and Eternal War, it is available by default for the Heavy class.
The Heavy class is the only class in the game that can equip the Multi-Melta. In Operations (co-op), the Heavy can equip it immediately. In Eternal War, you need to reach Veterancy Level 15 to unlock it.
What the Multi-Melta lacks in range and ammo capacity, it backs it up with an incredulous amount of damage and piercing power. It can fell even the hardiest foes (similar to the tabletop game) and can whittle down hordes of Termagaunts with ease. It can also delete Space Marines with ease. If you need to destroy something, just come up to it and fire a blast of Multi-Melta to reduce it to cinders.
The Multi-Melta finds good use in the Operations game mode or in co-op. Having a heavily upgraded Multi-Melta can help in tackling higher level Operations, making the gathering of experience and Armoury Data easier and more bearable. If you’re thinking of advancing fast in co-op multiplayer, have you or a friend use a Heavy and bring a Multi-Melta to resolve all of your problems.
In co-op, you can upgrade the Multi-Melta to improve its stats. Take note that upgrading weapons require you to spend Mastery Points and unlock tiers via Armoury Data.
