The Asia Pacific League 2024 came to its conclusion last January 14, 2023 at the Mall of Asia Marena. Team Secret and Blacklist Rivalry to the top on the VALORANT and DOTA 2 tourneys and taking home USD 65,000 in prize, respectively.
Blacklist Rivalry were able to prevail over fellow Filipino team Execration in the DOTA 2 grand finals. Abed “Abed” Usop averaged at 8.5 kills and 14 assists in the series to spearhead the offense of his team. They were successful in shutting down Execration’s star Mark “Bob” Urbino, which resulted in the latter’s defeat – another second-place finish in the Predator League grand finals for two consecutive years for Execration.
As this year’s DOTA 2 champions, Blacklist Rivalry takes home a cash prize USD 65,000, while Execration receives USD 20,000 for their efforts. Third and fourth finisher Team Aster from China and IHC Esports from Mongolia also gets USD 7,500 for their impressive showing.
Team Secret came into the tournament as the favorites and they were able to rise to the event. The team was in full control of the Japanese side FAV gaming during the final with Adrian “invy” Reyes continuing to be the brightest spot for the team.
Team Secret gets to take home a USD 65,000 prize pool for the top spot, while FAV Gaming wins USD 20,000 for their performance. Third and fourth placers BOOM Esports from Indonesia and Team Flash from Vietnam also receives USD 7,500.
Merits were giving to exceptional payers in the tourney. Polo “Raven” Fausto and Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera were awarded this award for DOTA 2 and VALORANT, respectively. The two received an extra USD 10,000 prize as well as the Intel MVP Award Trophy for their performance.
Beyond the live esports action, attendees were treated to entertainment from Acer ambassadors SB19 and Sarah Geronimo. There were also meet-and-greet sessions with Predator ambassadors amaratv, Kang Dupet, Alodia Gosiengfiao, Maggiekarp, Chibiby, burg, and Cong TV.
Felip and Ylona Garcia were opening acts for Day 1, exciting the crowd with their performance. This was followed by numbers from Urbandub and Al James, as well as a special appearance by Donny Pangilinan. Day 2 were followed by performances by Josh Cullen, Spongecola, Pablo, and KZ Tandingan.
The next Asia Pacific Predator League will be held in Malaysia, with qualifiers starting in late 2024 and grand finals to be held in early 2025.
