TECNO is working with BBC StoryWorks – BBC Studios’ in-house commercial content studio – to create the short film The Future Lens: Looking Ahead with TECNO to explore the meaning of mobile camera innovation.

The film showcases the brand’s inclusive mobile camera technology for each user through its “glocalization strategy,” which details the work to reflect different communities. TECNO showcases how they have solved the gaps between fast-developing mobile camera technologies and consumers’ actual needs in various situations to best meet the needs of their users that fits in their environment and cultures.

For example, the optimize portrait imaging quality, TECNO has built a large database that covers seven skin types and 76 skin categories at its TAVIOS laboratory. This allows everyone – regardless of look – to enjoy cameras that will make them look their best. In the photo-taking process, the brand’s algorithms will gather information from the users’ environments, recognizing opportunities for image enhancement.

Li Jiangtao, Senior Director of TECNO Imaging Product and Head of TAIVOS™ Lab said “It’s a great experience for us to work with BBC Storyworks, to share our insights and to tell the story behind our mobile camera development. The short film explores the meaning behind ‘Future Lens’, TECNO’s key concept on mobile camera innovation – to provide more inclusive technology for everyone, creating a world with more understanding without limits.”

TECNO are optimistic that emerging markets will continue to see the amazing potential of mobile camera technologies designed to meet the needs of each user. BBC StoryWork’s commercial series will air until February 8, 2022 and will include a 30-second airing on the BBC World News South Asia Feed and BBC World News Africa feed, as well as versions on the branded content hub on the BBC website.
