While there are no new cards from NVIDIA or AMD at Computex 2023, ASUS showcased the new ROG Matrix RTX 4090. It is one of the most distinctive cards in the market packing a transparent panel on the GPU and is cooled by a 360mm radiator.
Aside from being completely liquid cooled, ASUS is using liquid metal on the GPU which should increase thermal conductivity for heat transfer when compared to your traditional thermal paste. Its heat plate extends beyond the GPU and also covers other heat-generating chips like memory.
Its 360mm radiator is cooled by three 120mm magnetic, daisy-chained fans that reduces cable clutter on the chassis as you only need to connect the first fan to the motherboard. Unfortunately, it seems that the its cooling is completely sealed and the tubes are not quick disconnects so you can’t add the card onto an existing custom liquid cooling solution.
Pricing for the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 4090 is yet to be announced but given that a “normal” NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 already costs PhP 112,300 (or around USD 1,500 globally), it’s safe to assume that the card will cost a pretty penny.
