It seems that ASUS is in a mad hunt to eliminate bezels in most of their notebook models. Starting with last year’s ZenBook series, the near bezelless design of ASUS’ notebooks has spilled over to the latest ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701.

ASUS has managed to squeeze a 17.3-inch AHVA screen into the Zephyrus S GX701’s 15.-7-inch wide body. With bezels only measuring 6.9mm, the real estate at the front of the notebook is almost completely given to the display.

Aside from the bump in size, the screen on the notebook is rated at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 running at 144Hz and 3ms response time as well as NVIDIA G-SYNC. ASUS ROG has also focused on the more professional stuff on the display.

The screen can now display 100% sRGB color space and is now Pantone Validated, which should suffice users who require exact color accuracy in creative work.

Under the hood of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is an Intel Core i7-8750H based on Intel’s Coffee Lake platform together with up to 24GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2666MHz as well as up to an M.2 NVMe PCie 3.0 x4 1TB SSD.

Depending on the configuration, the latest addition to the Zephyrus lineup can have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2018 MaxQ GPU, an RTX 2070 or an RTX 2060. This would allow the notebook to reach frame rates not possible with previous generation GPUs and take advantage of NVIDIA exclusive technologies such as DLSS and Ray Tracing.
