It’s not everyday you get to do something radical and unique, so you have to make sure of the little details cause it will make a big difference. During the Acer Day 2024 we got a rare opportunity through our friends from Acer Philippines to have our Acer Vero 15 personally signed by SB19. With a call of help with intention to surprise my sister, I intended this laptop to be her birthday gift with a special touch of being a fan of the group.
Now there are a lot of markers out in the market, doing our research there are two problems in getting this done right. First is that all Acer laptops are covered with an antimicrobial layer to prevent germs accumulating on the laptop, which also repels stains in the process. Second is that the Vero 15 in particular is a rough surfaced laptop which is more challenging to sign-on, thus we needed a better tip versus a regular permanent marker.
So we researched well and found out that you need an Oil-based market, which is this Sharpie Paint-Peinture marker. This has a small metal ball inside to keep the contents fluid similar to a spray paint, so you have to shake before using it.
After signing, let your canvass or item settle in first for around 5 minutes before touching it in order for the oil to set well. This also guarantees as well that accidental smudges will be avoided.
During the closed door rehearsals of SB19 for their set performance was the moment I got the laptop signed. Before they practice their run for their new song “Kalakal” was a short moment of delight that they knew they will be signing on a laptop whereas before they just sign on the boxes due to the dilema of the marker staying on the devices itself.
Here you can watch from 6:00 for a quick but meaningful moment of limitless achieved when each member of SB19 signed the laptop.
The oil paint is now fully dry and the saturation of the color has now set into the laptop’s plastic layer, this what made the vibrant green color to be a bit more of a muted hue and blended into the gray laptop’s color.
The good thing is that this is even scratch resistant, so no problems in touching the actual signatures unlike using a regular marker which chips off the paint once it dries.
So that’s it, hope this helps you out in your future autograph ventures to make your moment longer lasting. The Sharpie costs 400 pesos at National Bookstore, but overall it’s all worth it cause of its right features for the priceless gift.
Thank you once again Acer Philippines for this rare opportunity, you definitely made a lot of A’Tin happy and my sister overjoyed with happiness. Truly for Acer to provide opportunities and connect communities in a different way compared to other brands is what sets Acer apart, a solid proof and reason why they are the No.1 laptop brand in the Philippines.
