The iPhone 17 has also made its debut alongside the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While the others may have stolen the spotlight, the vanilla iPhone 17 has plenty of upgrades from last year such as a new chipset and a better display.

The iPhone 17 now comes with the new A19 chip compared to last year’s A18. While Apple hasn’t compared any figures from its predecessor, they claim that the A19 is 1.5x faster than the A15 Bionic from the iPhone 13. You also get a better Neural Engine and Apple Intelligence support on the vanilla model.

Apple is using their N1 chip for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 support. They are also implementing the Apple C1X modem, which they claim uses 30% less energy compared to the Snapdragon X71 from last year.

It now packs a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, which is slightly larger than last year’s model. Its screen also now comes with ProMotion with refresh rates of 120Hz as well as Apple Ceramic Shield 2 that promises better scratch resistance and anti-reflection.

At the back is its 48MP main camera and 48MP ultrawide shooter. The latter supports 2x optical zoom while the latter comes with macro capabilities for closeups. Meanwhile, an 18MP camera is placed at the front with Center Stage that lest you have a wider field of view and even AI assistance.

The Apple iPhone 17 starts at PhP 57,990 in the Philippines. There are two storage options available: 256GB for PhP 57,990 and 512GB for PhP 72,990. Colorways include Lavender, Sage, Mist Blue, White, and Black.

The device is now available for pre-order on Apple’s official website and authorized retailers nationwide. They are expected to hit the retail market on September 19, 2025.
