The iPhone XR is the cheapest X from Apple yet

Launched alongside the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the iPhone XR comes with an aluminum and glass design, an LCD design, and is available in more colors compared to its contemporaries. It’s also the cheapest iPhone carrying the X branding at USD 749.

The main difference of the iPhone XR from the XS and XS Max is the design. Sporting an aluminum build, the XR comes in several colors: white, black, blue, yellow, coral, and (PRODUCT)RED. The iPhone XR also comes with an IP67 rating for accidental drops in water.

Another contrast from its brothers is the 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display. Instead of an OLED panel, the iPhone XR uses a more traditional LCD panel. Apple, however, uses advanced pixel masking and sub-pixel antialiasing on the display to allow the screen to take more real-estate as well as to follow the curves of the body. It also supports wide color support and True Tone for a more natural viewing experience.

Like the other recently released iPhones, the iPhone XR has the latest A12 Bionic Chip from Apple. The smartphone comes with a 12MP f/1.8 aperture rear camera that’s capable of choosing an aperture value even after a photograph has been taken. Selfies are taken with a 7MP f/2.2 camera at the front.

Aside from its color variants, the iPhone XR will come in several variants: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Pre-orders will start on October 19 while the smartphone will become available in the market on October 25.
