PC handhelds have burst into the mainstream thanks to the Steam Deck and the ROG Ally. Lenovo is upping the ante, however, with the Legion Go. It sports an 8.8-inch 2560 x 1600 QHD+ 144Hz touch screen and detachable controllers.
It is powered by up to an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme with 16GB LPDDR5X memory, and up to 1TB of internal storage. You can equip the handheld with up to an 2TB MicroSD card if you want to store more games. Its detachable controllers can be set on a table to be used as a portable vertical keyboard for more precise controls like in FPS games.
The Legion Go is powered by a 49.2Whr battery. There are also a bunch of ports to expand its capabilities including a 3.5mm audio jack, two USB-C ports compatible with USB 4.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and Power Delivery 3.0. It won’t be running any specialized OS but will rely on Windows 11 like some handhelds in the market.
The Legion Go is expected to hit the market starting November 2023 at EUR 799 (PhP 49,000). No word yet about local availability and pricing in the Philippines.
Lenovo will be building an ecosystem with the Legion Go. The Legion Glasses uses micro-OLED display with 1920 x 1080 per eye at 60Hz. The brand says that it can emulate an 86-inch display once worn.
On the other hand, the Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming in-Ear Headphones. It is powered by 10mm armature drivers that promises powerful bass, balanced mids, and clear highs. As its name suggests, it will have 7.1 surround sound for a more immersive gaming experience. The headphones will come with an in-line controller for volume and playback controls as well as RGB lighting.
The Legion Glasses and Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming Headphones are priced at EUR 499 (PhP 31,000) and EUR 49.99 (PhP 3,000), respectively. Both are anticipated to arrive in the market on October 2023. Like the Legion Go, no information yet about local pricing and availability in the Philippines.
