MSI is upping their notebook game with the MSI GE66 Raider. The brand is hailing the GE66 Raider as a futuristic laptop and looking at the early specifications, it may be the next iteration of the gaming notebook with a fast display and a large battery capacity.

MSI GE66 Raider

MSI has only given a few key specifications for the MSI GE66 Raider. The notebook will come with a 300Hz display, which is the fastest yet found on an MSI notebook. In addition, a massive 99.9Whr battery will power the whole device allowing it to be used for an extended amount of time for a gaming notebook.

The Mystic Light bar makes a return on the GE66 Raider, which now encompasses the length of the palm rest. 16.7 million colors can be produced by the light bar allowing users to fully customize the notebook’s RGB lighting.

MSI GE66 Dragonshield Limited Edition

MSI will also be releasing a limited edition of the GE66 dubbed the Dragonshield. The chassis of the MSI GE66 Dragonshield has been designed by digital artist Colie Werts known for his works in the Star Wars prequels, Transformers, and Ironman.

This design of the MSI GE66 Dragonshield is reminiscent of an interstellar fighter spacecraft. “I imagined the Dragonshield being the heart of the machine’s design. In doing so, I envisioned the shield being displayed prominently on the back of a winged ship.” Wertz said.

What will power the MSI GE66 Raider series?

Details are still sparse on some of the specifications of the MSI GE66 Raider. MSI says that the notebook will be powered by Intel’s 10th Generation Intel Core H-series processors and NVIDIA GeForce graphics.

MSI hasn’t announced yet as to when the MSI GE66 Raider and the Dragonshield Limited Edition will hit the market.
