Acer has finally launched their own handheld PC – the Acer Nitro Blaze 7. While it’s late to the party, Acer outfits the Nitro Blaze 7 with a couple of goodies that might just make it standout of the crowd.
Instead of the Ryzen Z1 platform that some of its competitors use, Acer’s Nitro Blaze 7 will be based on the AMD Ryzen series processors – specifically the Ryzen 7 8840HS. It will come with some AI capabilities as it is rated up to 39 TOPS. Its CPU is complemented by a Radeon 780M GPU, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage, and a 7-inch 1920 x 1080 144Hz IPS display that supports AMD FreeSync Premium.
Like most of handheld PCs in the market, the Nitro Blaze 7 will run on Windows 11. To mitigate the OS’ limitations, Acer is implementing their own skin dubbed the Acer Game Space. You can gain quick access to games and curate your favorite game titles. As an added bonus, they are bundling 3 months of PC Game Pass on the device.
Acer limits the I/O to two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The handheld supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for faster wireless speeds.
Official pricing and availability for the Acer Nitro Blaze 7 are yet to be announced. Given the time of its debut, Acer is most likely slating a release near the holidays.
