The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 could bring ray tracing to the masses

Unveiled last August 2018, NVIDIA’s RTX cards took the world by storm by offering better performance and improved technologies such as ray tracing and DLSS to gamers. In CES 2019, the Green Team introduced the most affordable RTX card yet, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.

Rocking the same Turing architecture as other RTX cards, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 aims to bring ray tracing and DLSS technologies to the mass market. Promising 60% faster speeds in current titles over the GTX 1060, the RTX 2060’s RT and Tensor Cores is committed in running games such as Battlefield V with ray tracing at 60fps.

Essentially a cut down version of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, the RTX 2060 comes with a TU106 GPU and 1920 CUDA cores compared to the 2304 CUDA cores of the RTX 2070. To reduce cost, NVIDIA has reduced the bus width to 192-bit for its 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM.

Starting January 15, 2018, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 will be available globally from every major OEM, system builder, and graphics card partner for USD 349 or at around PhP 22,000 in the Philippines.
