The OPPO Air Glass 3 was officially unveiled at MWC 2024. It can access OPPOs AndesGPT model via a smartphone. They are also upping their game in the AI space with the new OPPO AI Center, plus the OPPO AI Smartphone White paper as they transition into AI smartphones.
The OPPO Air Glass 3 features a self-developed resign waveguide with a refractive index of 1.70, a display uniformity of more than 50%, and a peak eye brightness of more than 1,000 nits to make sure that its wearing experience is close to that of a regular pair of glasses while still providing the best possible display.
This Extended Reality (XR) prototype can access OPPO AndresGPT via Air Glass App on a smartphone. You’ll only need to lightly press the temple of the devices to activate its AI voice assistant and access a range of tasks.
OPPO says that it can understand various data types including text, images, videos, and audio. The multimodal AI technology can process and interpret complex user scenarios. Touch interaction is supported and can control playback, voice calls, information display, color image browsing, and more. The glasses will also have four microphones, reverse sound field technology, and other features to improve noise isolation, audio quality, and privacy.
OPPO has poured significant investment and development in AI for its long-term growth. The OPPO AI Center is designed to be the new hub to focus their resources towards R&D in AI to bring its benefits to everyone.
As part of its commitment in the field, the OPPO Reno11 series and the OPPO Find N3 will be equipped with an array of generative AI features such as OPPO AI Eraser within the 2nd quarter of 2024. They will be integrating more of these features in devices in the future.
As of December 31, 2023, OPPO has filed over 3,160 global patents related to AI. With its years of technical experience, OPPO has released its AI Smartphone White Paper that provides an analysis and outlook on future trends and key applications in AI especially in the smartphone field.
AndesGPT, OPPO’s self-trained generative AI model, was released at the OPPO ODC 2023 featuring dialogue enhancement, personalization, and cloud-device collaboration. This will also power future AI capabilities such as the upcoming AI Eraser on the OPPO Find X7 Ultra and OPPO Find X7 at the Qualcomm and MediaTek booths, respectively.
OPPO, in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and startup AlpsenTek, introduced a new AI Motion algorithm based on Hybrid Vision Sensing (HVS) technology to add clarity to photography and videography of high-speed moving objects. OPPO devices may also soon connect to Microsoft Copilot thanks to their partnership with Google, Qualcomm, and MediaTek.
