ASUS already has quite a range of 16:9 OLED gaming displays but they are now introducing their new ultrawide ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD. It is quite a monitor on paper packing a 49-inch 5120 x 1440 144Hz OLED panel equivalent to two 16:9 2560 x 1440 displays.
The ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD’s 49-inch 5120 x 1440 144Hz OLED screen has an 1800R curvature to wrap around your periphery for additional immersion. Its display is a QD-OLED panel allowing for 10-bit color, 99% DCI-P3, deep blacks, and vivid colors.
ASUS is equipping the monitor with a Smart KVM that allows control of two PCs with only one keyboard and mouse. The display can be used either as one of two side-by-side monitors depending on your preference. They are also including a DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports, USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, and a USB-C port with 90W power delivery.
To ensure its longevity, its heat-generating components are cooled by a large custom heatsink to avoid the use of noisy fans. The OLED panel dissipates heat with a graphine film behind to increase thermal conductivity to up to 5,300 W/mk and can reduce image retention.
Pricing and availability for the ROG Swift PG49WCD are yet to be announced. We expect it to be priced high in the market given that it is a premium monitor. For comparison, ASUS’ own ROG Swift ROG OLED PG48UQ 4K gaming monitor is placed at PhP 117,020 in the Philippines.
