The Transcend JetDrive 855/850 NVMe SSDs makes upgrading Mac storage easier

-

Adding storage to a sleek Macintosh device will always be a hassle since opening a device may lead to more problems other than storage. Transcend aims to relieve the stress of adding faster storage devices to a MacBook, MacBook Air, Mac Mini, or Mac Pro with the JetDrive 855/850.

With capacities of up to 480GB, the Transcend JetDrive 855/850 NVMe SSDs uses Thunderbolt, which in turn, utilizes a PCIe 3.0 x4 bus to reach performance of up to 1,600MB/s reads and 1,300MB/s write. The drives also come in an aluminum alloy enclosure to complement the Mac’s simple and clean design. Users can even remove the included M.2 SSD inside and replace it with another M.2 drive.

To protect the user’s data, both drives use Transcend’s JetDrive ToolBox; a software tailor-made for Mac. This allows the user to maintain a healthy SSD by keeping it up-to-date, preventing functional degredation, and predicting problems before they occur. It even has Drive Information, Health Indicator, and Firmware Update functions.
