IP ratings are usually reserved for upper midrange or flagship devices. vivo, however, aims to break that trend with the vivo Y17s — an entry-level smartphone with an IP54 rating.
An IP54 rating gives the Y17s a level of resistance from dust and water entering its chassis. It won’t be waterproof, but a resistance to water is better than none especially with the varying weather in the Philippines.
Apart from its weather protection, the smartphone is equipped with a 6.56-inch 1612 x 720 display, a Helio G85 chipset complemented by 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
Photos can be taken with its 50MP f/1.8 main camera and 8MP f/2.0 front-facing camera. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W charging.
