Nothing beats Father’s Day with the Ford Broco! You might be hearing music right now in your head, but this was exactly how we felt when we got to experience the iconic off-road Bronco for Father’s Day.

Disclaimer: Our intent to experience the Ford Bronco isn’t to thoroughly review it but more of to experience it to celebrate Father’s Day. So this article doesn’t contain deep informations about the special features of the vehicle.

Meet my father Joey, now 74 years old and still strong like a carabao to do daily routines, and even church services on Sundays. But with age also comes with hesitation, being reluctant to drive now more than a manual transmission and just around our proximity due to vision and hearing challenges. But his passion and enthusiasm towards cars is still strong till today, as a matter of fact his daily tablet browsing and newspaper reads isn’t complete without checking the latest updates in the motoring world.

With plans to make Father’s Day special, I requested Ford Philippines to experience the built in America Bronco as my father would simply smile with happiness seeing such a unique vehicle. Just like the feeling when you saw your first vehicle in actual.

Hence welcome the Bronco 2.7L EcoBoost® Outer Banks with Sasquatch Package for a weekend, definitely big in size and the widest vehicle we’ve driven so far. This iconic off-road beast definitely turns heads anywhere you are near at it, so indeed it’s the ideal car to delight my father.

We had the vehicle for 4 days which was adequate enough to admire and experience. Ultimately we went to go to Regina Rosario last Father’s Day to celebrate and have a decent outdoor drive through the roads of Marilaque.

The Bronco is indeed iconic in look, the box form factor is one look clear that it means business. While on the height of its large wheelbase it will definitely make anyone hop a big step before entering the cabin. So make sure to hold into the side handles to easily enter and make sure to do it in style as its indeed powering.

One love language of my father in our vehicles is cleaning it before leaving for work or our routines. The Bronco isn’t spared with as well as as early as 7am my dad gives love to clean the nooks and stains even if the car is the biggest one he’ve cleaned so far.

Built for outdoor travels in mid the Bronco is majority fitted with friendly materials against the conditions of exposure like rain, and even humidity. Cause remember the Bronco is one unique vehicle that you can remove the roofing to make it versatile in outdoor conditions. Additionally the seats are wrapped in leather which his more weather resistant.

The Infotainment System is a big screen indeed with a large rectangular shape, Apple Carplay and Android Auto was very easy to pair as well. Additionally there is also other experiences you can tinker around like the FordPass feature to control your vehicle via smartphone.

Audio quality wise which is one of my particulars in experiencing a car, delivery is above average with adequate clarity. Bass can improve but understood with the purpose of the vehicle being versatile in removable roofing / panels thus acoustics isn’t that favorable for music isolation. Still its loud enough to be enjoyed and can overpower outdoor noise even in high speed travels.

Drive Experience

Now driving the Bronco has its learning curve as to any car, a powerful V6 engine on a large vehicle definitely gives you the conditions of being on top of the world. Climbing to Tanay Regina Rosario is indeed easy for the Bronco, what made it even better is its high clearance and wide body is a right combination to the specular side mountain view along the way.

Apologies as we don’t have any scenery to share since I was the driver and content creator in the family. But let me break down my driving experience in bullet points

  • How’s Overtaking? – Definitely no problem, you just have to commit when doing it
  • Is the Bronco really big? – Yes, bigger than most SUVs I’ve driven so you need an extra care in turns
  • How’s the handling – Big bumps are no problem given its built,
  • How’s the fuel consumption – Its a V6 so expected to consume a lot, we averaged 4.9km per liter in our whole trip from Marikina to Regina Rica to Antipolo and Marikina.
  • Do you have any callouts – Probably just the horn, it’s not really representing such a big vehicle due to its tone of being light.

The Bronco is really fun to drive, especially in the curves of Marilaque its very responsive without much body roll. Plus points to the photographers who were taking photos of the Bronco cause its really turning heads & cameras everywhere we went to.

The Digital Instrument Panel in tuning the settings and viewing information such as speed, traction and driving control (Normal, Eco, Sports, Snow, Slippery, etc) are all seen immediately in a quirky animation in every modification.

Aside from the one mentioned above, we just simply loved driving the Bronco cause of its presence in the road. Definitely there is something when you drive such a large vehicle, its demeanor is definitely felt on the road, when parking or even riding on it. My father also noticed this phenomenon as well, it’s like saying everyone knows its Bronco and just simply admires it.

Special Shoutout

Now the Bronco is just one of the special vehicles of Ford which is more for off-roading, of course we have the Mustang which is arguably more popular as a muscle car. Coincidentally in the struck of opportunity, our parking in a mall got with a mustang side by side which made my father even happier as two iconic cars together are definitely head turners. The feeling is like being in a showroom indeed.

But what made our drive experience extra special is a Red Bronco that we also encountered during our drive in Marcos Highway. Driving a special and rare vehicle is a privilege already, but the joy and happiness to see another Bronco on the road and doing a courtesy honk to greet each other was the cherry on top of our experience.

In the end we celebrated Father’s day 2025 on a high note, went to a special church, roamed to visit our loved ones and had a special meal to celebrate the day. Many thanks to Ford Philippines lending us the Ford Bronco.
