Dota 2 have revealed the invited teams for The International 2015 (TI5)
Vici Gaming
Evil Geniuses
Team Secret
Invictus Gaming
LGD Gaming
Cloud 9
Team Empire
Virtus Pro
Newbee
Team Malaysia
These 10 teams will be joined by 6 more teams that will have to go through the qualifers in Americas, China, South East Asia, Europe, and two from a Wild Card qualifier match/es.
Newbee, Vici and Evil Geniuses topped last year’s tournament as 1st, 2nd and third placers respectively. Surprisingly, NA’VI was not on the invited list after being on the top 3 for 2011 (champions) to 2013; maybe because of their subpar performance in these year’s tournaments.
Team Malaysia, which is a team that consists a line-up that competed in 2013 under the banner Orange Esports will be back with Mush who left Team DK. They were supposed to play under EHOME but was released earlier this year.
Moving forward, Americas qualifier are all set with no Team Liquid joining the qualifiers; while the China qualifiers will be led by TongFu, and some Team B teams like Newbee Youth, Vici Gaming Potential, and TongFu WanZhou, Na’Vi and Alliance which are both former champions will be fighting for a spot on the tournament via the Europe qualifiers; with no Fnatic on sight. Last but not the least, the South East Asia qualifiers will be packed with 2 MVP teams, MVP.Phoenix and MVP Hot6 both hailing from South Korea. Three teams will be bearing the Philippine flag with Rave, Mineski and a surprising TnC Gaming is also on the list for the SEA Qualifiers.
