For decades now, Jollibee’s Aloha burger has been an icon of the company as one of their flagship disruptor burger. A juicy bacon, special sauce and a pineapple give this burger its signature identity.
Recently, Jollibee introduced a new twist to their Aloha burger by making it into a “Yum!”. This time, instead of a Champ Burger they opted to make it more affordable to everyone by making it to a Yum Burger. For us, this is a winning move for Jollibee and here are 5 reasons why.
We saw early reactions of “why not a Champ burger?”, for us it’s a brilliant idea as our main concern with Champ is the larger size. It’s hard enough to eat the champ alone without making a mess of small bits of beef falling off here and there. What more if you add the pineapple, bacon, and veggies?
Turning the Aloha Burger into a Yum solves that problem by giving a more compact package. Think of it like TLC with Pineapple, it fits nicely into your hand and you can bite into it without any mess. Besides, they say that the smaller the pineapple, the sweeter it is and that’s one our main observation here…the pineapple used is sweeter than ever.
Aloha Burger for only 85 pesos? Yup, that’s right, it’s definitely more affordable than a Champ. This was a relief for me as the 1st time I bought my Aloha burger I only had 130 pesos, enough for drinks and regular fries : )
Unlike the champ version, the Yum Burger version is sweeter thanks to its special sauce. Admit it, we Filipinos love sweeter versions and I was glad to taste it here as well. There is just something about a sweet mayo and a juicy pineapple blending on a yum burger. It’s just heaven.
Double Aloha Burger? Yeah, why not right? If you’re craving for more like a champ. Then the double Aloha burger will do justice and it gives more meat for a slightly more defining taste.

For Php85, having a different twist to an all-time favorite is worth it. It’s not that expensive, but enough of a kick to give you a well-deserved gratitude of your hard earned day. For sure, you will go back for more than one and we already had two in less than 3 days. #SorryNotSorry
That’s it, we love a more compact burger than a giant one. This installment for the Aloha Burger is a sure hit especially its more affordable and sweeter. Congrats Jollibee!
