Finally, after almost 4 years, Total War: Warhammer 3 is finally coming out this 2021. With this announcement is a trailer showcasing the arrival of Chaos and Kislev’s resistance. The description also describes the game to encompass the eastern races, so we might see more of the elusive Cathay race here.
The end of the trailer shows a 2021 release date. For reference, Total War: Warhammer was released on May 2016 and Warhammer 2 on September 2017. With that said, we can expect to Warhammer 3 to release within Q2 or Q3 2021.
As per the Warhammer 3 trailer, we can see a more fleshed out Kislev battling out against Chaos demons. Note that the demons are separate from the followers of Chaos which are mostly composed of humans. Lastly, the end of the trailer reveals a green token, very likely to allude to the Cathay race (medieval China’s equivalent in Warhammer).

With this one being the last of the trilogy of Total War: Warhammer games, we can expect this one to also include Mortal Empires. However, there is still no official announcement about its inclusion in Warhammer 3.
For those not in the know, Mortal Empires is a game mode that includes all races in the first Warhammer and Warhammer 2. It also combines the map from both games into one huge world. DLC factions from either games are also usable in this game mode. With that said, if you want to maximize your purchases and experience a battle royale unlike any other, play Mortal Empires.
