Total War: Warhammer Backpedals A Bit on Pre-order Bonus

-

Total War: Warhammer’s launch and announcement is a mix of tears and smiles. Now, the developer and publisher has agreed to offer the Chaos faction for those who buy the game on the first week. Previously, it was only offered as a free incentive for pre-orders, something that the fanbase didn’t like. But that doesn’t mean that the whole pain would be pushed back. Again, those who are not able to buy Total War: Warhammer on the first week will have to buy the Chaos faction, a part of the lore that most fans of Warhammer deem as a necessary package to the vanilla game.

totalwarwarhammer1 While the overall idea of bringing the lore-rich table-top game to the PC is not that unique, fanbase from both industries are still at the rocks with the outcome. First, it is something that the veterans of RTS and Turn-based have never done before. Second, the disaster that was Rome 2: Total War still has some wounds that were left unabated and uncovered. Thirdly, the Chaos pre-order wall really messed things up.

Personally, I’m excited for the game. Total War: Warhammer is slated to have flying units, magic, and a lot more uniqueness into it rather than a copy paste endeavor shown in the previous installment. I just pray that no more dick moves be made by both Sega and Creative Assembly. Should that happen, and should the game learn from previous mistakes, then we can expect this going gold and classic.

If you’re having doubts, know that the developers also promised early reviews, a week before the eventual launch of Total War: Warhammer.

Total War: Warhammer will be released on May 24, 2016 and is an exclusive game for the PC. The game is currently cheap in Steam, having a price of just PhP 1,560. That’s a far cry from the US$60 price in the US.
