Toyota Motor Philippines has officially launched the Toyota GR 86 in the Philippines. It is an homage to the Toyota 86 line now branded with the GR badge. It promises greater steering feedback and sharper handling, whether in race tracks or on everyday roads.
The Toyota GR 86 comes with a 2.4L 4-cylinder, horizontally-opposed, DOHC, 16-valve engine. Maximum output is around 237PS and maximum torque is at 250Nm – a step up from its predecessor. Features include SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill-Start Assist Control, and Limited Slip Differential.
It’s A/T variant also comes with the GR Active Safety Suite, which includes Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beam, Lane Departure Alert, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. This variant comes with leather and suede seats while its M/T version has all-fabric seats.
The Toyota GR 86 is now available in the Philippines for PhP 2,328,000 for the M/T variant and PhP 2,499,000 for the A/T version. Colorways include Ignition Red, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Bright Blue, and Sapphire Blue Pearl.
