Transcend has just added two new SSDs in their ever-growing library of storage devices. Both the Transcend 830S and 430S offer reliability and speed to small devices such as ultrabooks.
Transcend 430S M.2 SSD
Coming with only a 42mm M.2 form factor, the Transcend 430S M.2 SSD uses the SATA III interface. This allows the drive to reach a sequential read performance of 560MB/s and sequential write speeds of 500MB/s.
The drive also employs a DDR3 DRAM cache to deliver high performance while staying within the limitation of small form factor devices.
Transcend 830S M.2 SSD
The Transcend 830S M.2 SSD, on the other hand, uses a relatively standard 80mm M.2 form factor. The drive, however, is still small enough to fit in tablets, ultrabooks, and other laptops.
Like the 430S, the 830S sticks to the SATA III bus that allows it to reach sequential read speeds of 560MB/s and sequential writes of 520MB/s. It also comes with a DDR3 DRAM cache and high-quality 3D NAND Flash chips for reliability.
Both the Transcend 830S and 430S comes with exclusive technologies such as SLC caching for better write performance, a RAID engine to protect data, and Low-Density Parity and Error Correction Code to detect and correct potential error in data.
The Transcend 430S M.2 SSD is available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB capacities while the Transcend 830S M.2 SSD will be available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants. Both drives are covered by Transcend’s Five-year Limited Warranty.
