The HONOR X9b 5G has officially launched in the Philippines after being roughly tested by the local media a couple of days ago. It is a direct upgrade to its predecessor, the HONOR X9a 5G, with a new chipset, a higher megapixel main camera, and even tougher design.
The X9b 5G’s highlights is its durability thanks to its Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display 360° Anti-Drop Protection. HONOR is employing a new three-level protection with reinforcements for the screen, frame, and internal compartments. It received a five-star overall drop resistance certification from Switzerland’s SGS. We even tried using it as a crab mallet and its 6.78-inch 2652 x 1200 120Hz display survived without any significant damage.
Its also one of the first smartphones in the Philippines to come with the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which Qualcomm says delivers up to 35% better performance than the Snapdragon 695. The chipset is complemented by 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The main camera receives a bump in pixel count at 108MP f/1.75 and is still backed by a 5MP f/2.2 ultrawide and a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera while at the front is a 16MP f/2.45 front-facing camera. The smartphone will be powered by a 5,800mAh camera and supports 35W Fast Charging.

The HONOR X9b 5G is priced at PhP 16,999 in the Philippines. It will be up for pre-order from January 12 to 19, 2024 and comes bundled with a free HONOR Gift Box and HONOR Choice X5 Earbuds worth PhP 4,000.
