The Realme 5 Pro comes encased in a minimalist box with a picture of a smartphone that’s quickly becoming a signature design for the brand.
Inside the box are contents that you would expect from a smartphone. Aside from the smartphone itself, the Realme 5 Pro comes with bits of documentation, a silicone case, SIM ejector, a USB Type-C cable, and, surprisingly, a VOOC 3.0 wall charger.
The Realme 5 Pro comes with the brand’s signature diamond-cut rear. At the top-left portion of the back is the smartphone’s centerpiece: a quad-camera setup. Just beside its cameras is the smartphone’s fingerprint scanner.
Its quad-camera setup is composed of a 48MP f/1.79 main camera powered by a Sony IMX 586 sensor, an 8MP f/2.25 ultrawide shooter, a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. And a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor for portraiture.
While the Realme 5 Pro’s 6.3-inch LTPS IPS display is a bit smaller compared to the Realme 5’s 6.5-inch, it does have a larger 2340 x 1080 resolution. In addition, the Realme 5 Pro comes with Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Gorilla Glass 3.
Placed on its waterdrop notch is a 16MP f/2.0 front-facing camera. As is standard nowadays, the Realme 5 Pro’s selfie camera comes with AI capabilities such as AI Beautification and Smart Groufie. The front camera also allows Face Unlock to complement the smartphone’s fingerprint scanner.
Inside the Realme 5 Pro is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chip with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage depending on the variant. Realme is also offering two SIM slots alongside a dedicated MicroSD slot.
The Realme 5 Pro is powered by a 4,035mAh battery. It is a bit lower compared to the 5,000mAh of its sibling, however, the 5 Pro is compatible with VOOC 3.0 20W Fast Charging via its USB Type-C port.
As expected from Realme
The Realme 5 Pro doesn’t really break the mold in terms of smartphone innovation. Based on the prices we’ve seen in other countries, however, the Realme 5 Pro poses a great price-to-performance ratio.
At this time, we can’t say just yet how much the Realme 5 Pro will be in the Philippines. Realme in the Philippines, however, has a history of really taking the price down compared to its competition. We’ll have to wait a bit first before we come to a concrete conclusion with the Realme 5 Pro.
With their sales from India, the smartphone is an instantaneous hit. Seems, realme has a winner here if the price is kept right in our watch. The price will be revealed on October 3rd at the official launch of the Realme 5 series in the Philippines.
