Another character has just dropped. Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia is pleased to announce the second DLC, containing the OG Kenpachi, Retsu Unohana, for BLEACH Rebirth of Souls on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam®.
The DLC introduces a new character, Retsu Unohana, Captain of Squad 4 and the first Kenpachi into the roster of playable characters. Once a diabolical villain of the Soul Society, her talent was spotted by Shigekuni Genryusai Yamamoto. She joined him as one of the founding members of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, laying the foundations of what would become Squad 11. Her former name, Yachiru, was chosen by herself to indicate her mastery of all styles and ways of the sword.
The latest console title in the BLEACH series, players can follow the full BLEACH storyline, beginning with the Substitute Soul Reaper arc, continuing all the way to the Arrancar arc, including the battle against Sosuke Aizen and the Arrancar. An original secret story is also included, detailing the stories of each character that isn’t shared in the main story.
BLEACH was a smash-hit battle action comic serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine until Volume 38 of 2016. First published in 2001, the series has attracted a devoted global following, with sales of the 74-volume comic book series reaching 130 million copies worldwide!
The series was subsequently adapted into an anime series broadcast between 2004 and March 2012, and also features four feature-length movies.
A new series known as BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, featuring updated character designs, began its first season in October 2022. The second season, BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Separation, began in July 2023, while the third season is set to launch in October 2024, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the BLEACH manga. Achieving worldwide popularity, the series continues to attract more fans even today.
