First announced to the public in MWC 2018, the Vivo APEX was initially only a concept smartphone to show what Vivo can do to push smartphone design to the edge. Sporting a near bezelless 5.99-inch OLED display, the APEX has the heist screen-to-body ratio of any smartphone at 98% ratio.
The Vivo APEX is now slated for mass production by the middle of 2018. Vivo has also announced that the APEX will be using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. The APEX sports an 8MP front-facing camera that rises up at just 0.8 seconds to avoid any lag when taking selfies and will retract after use.
The APEX FullView also employs the usage a new System in Package (SIP) technology to integrate the DAC and three operational amplifiers together. This allows the circuit board space to be cut by 60% compared to the Xplay 6, which frees up space in the smartphone’s interior.
We’ll know more about the Vivo APEX when it’s ready for release. Stay tuned for updates.
