Vivo has just signed a memorandum of understanding with Qualcomm last November 9 worth USD 4 billion to strengthen its partnership with the semiconductor company. This will allow Vivo to further develop their technical partnership and patent sharing with Qualcomm to ensure their strengthening hold over the mobile market.

Aside from this partnership, Vivo has also made some impressive developments over the past few months. The young brand is now expanding into territories such as Taiwan, Russia, Singapore, and Africa. On a technical front, they were also the first smartphone company to unveil an under the screen fingerprint sensor technology at the Mobile World Congress 2017 with the help of Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint technology. Vivo is also looking into the significance of human-computer interaction to accelerate the formulation of 5G standards.

As for the Philippines, they have recently launched the new Vivo V7+, which sports a 24MP front-facing camera supplemented by an LED flash for clearer selfies. As with their partnership with Qualcomm, their newest smartphone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 for its SoC. Check out our review here.
