The Vivo S6 5G is the latest smartphone to try to bring 5G to a more reasonable price point. Starting at CNY 2,698 (USD 380, PhP 20,000), this recent addition from Vivo comes with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display, quad cameras, and an Exynos 980 chip from Samsung.

The Vivo S6 5G comes with a 6.44-inch AMOLED 2400 x 1080 display with an integrated fingerprint scanner at the front. Instead of a punch-hole for the front camera, Vivo is using their waterdrop notch to house the smartphone’s 32MP f/2.1 selfie camera.

At the back is the smartphone’s cameras in a circular arrangement reminiscent of the camera bump found on the NEX 3S 5G. Leading the pack is a 48MP f/1.8 PDAF main camera flanked by an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide, a 2MP f/2.4 macro, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Just below the camera bump is a dual-LED flash for dark conditions.

The smartphone isn’t using the usual Snapdragon or Helio chipsets found on most of their offerings. Instead, they have tapped Samsung for the Exynos 980 chip which provides processing power as well as the smartphone’s 5G capabilities. Complementing the chipset is 6GB/8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage.

Supplying the juice to the smartphone is a 4,500mAh battery charged via an 18W Fast Charging provided by the USB Type-C connection. The device will come with Android 10 with the company’s FunTouch 10 OS on top.
